These are just some of the reasons a Mary Meyer toy is safe, no matter which toy you choose. Our 5-Step Approach to Safety 1. Design Exceeding ASTM standards is the guiding principle of our experienced designers. Safety begins at the drawing board. From the way items are sewn to the fabrics and components selected, our designers make thoughtful decisions to help keep our toys among the safest in the industry. 2. Testing All Mary Meyer toys are fully tested for fabric performance and construction quality. Our toys are tested to meet, and often exceed, U.S. safety standards. If a toy does not pass testing, it is either removed before production or redesigned until it meets all safety requirements. 3. Production Built-in production processes are designed to maximize safety. All toys pass through metal detectors to ensure no metal fragments are inside. All plastic eyes are sonic-welded in place to help ensure they remain firmly attached to the surrounding fabric. All beans are sewn into inner bean bags so that if a seam breaks during the life of the toy, the beans remain safely contained. 4. Inspection Ongoing inspections during and after production are an essential part of our safety program. Toys are reviewed not only for safety, but also for quality control, design consistency, correct labeling, and package integrity. 5. Compliance Certification Mary Meyer provides PDFs of each toy’s CPSC Compliance Certificate to the public, as required by law. Mary Meyer does not use paint on any of its products. Our testing includes flammability, small parts, choking hazards, torque, tension, and more. Our toys comply with the elimination of six phthalates in children’s products, effective February 10, 2009. Mary Meyer certifies that the products sold are in compliance with all current standards. Our Commitment to Safety We are committed to meeting or exceeding all government requirements because safety has been a top priority for over 80 years. As a third-generation family business, our toys must be as safe for our children and grandchildren as they are for yours. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Safety for Infants Mary Meyer requires that all products be completely safety tested by independent testing facilities. Our products meet or exceed all applicable safety standards established by regulatory bodies in the United States. This includes physical and mechanical standards, as well as legislation regarding chemicals such as BPA, lead, and phthalates. All parties involved in the manufacture of Mary Meyer Corporation products are required to follow these guidelines. All testing is conducted by registered independent testing facilities.
