The cable should then be wiped with a water dampened cloth then a dry clean cloth. Never immerse, soak, clean cable with harsh chemicals such as acetone. To avoid permanent damage, do not expose the metal components (pins, sockets, etc.) to isopropyl alcohol, chlorine bleach, or glutaraldehyde solution.
